When researching and choosing an Enterprise SEO Tools the following are suggestions for key functionality that should be included.

  • Ability to monitor the performance of multiple keywords and their corresponding landing pages [at least monitor tier 1 and tier 2 keyword not all pages/words]
  • Ability to see a page that is ranking for multiple keywords [so you don’t fix one and hurt multiple]
  • Ability to have the performance for all Business Units and Country performance rolled up or down to the keyword level
  • Automated page auditing to identify issues with the page and why it is not ranking [but must have next point]
  • Ability to adjust and/or override key scoring functionality to account for known barriers on the site or in-house POV
  • Ability to identify and aggregate issues across templates [in addition to 50 page reports, generate 1 template report if all use that template]
  • Ability to segment keywords into to priority tiers and isolate them in the scoring to not dilute scores with lower importance words
  • Ability to export via CSV or Text required edits and changes to send to development teams
  • Ability to monitor pages flagged for update to know when the changes have been made and/or resubmit
  • Ability to “alert” to shifts in ranking or scoring elements – email is best but dashboard would be acceptable
  • Ability to see the current organic snippet to review for relevance
  • Ability to get accurate geographical reports for countries
